A center for meditation & modern buddhism in the heart of Oslo. Everyone is welcome.
Our centre is a non profit organisation registered in Norway and is part of a world-wide association of study and meditation centres dedicated to helping peopleeverywhere find meaning and purpose in their lives, and to the development of genuine inner peace and happiness.
A centre for modern Buddhism based in Oslo and is the principal centre for the New Kadampa Tradition in the Nordic Region.
Nordic Kadampa Meditation Centre organises weekly courses, drop-in meditations, day courses, as well as special events and retreats related to meditation and buddhist philosophy all year round. Our new Centre located in Majorstuen (Majorstuveien 26) is now being created with the help of a growing group of local and international volunteers. (see plan below)
The next stage: June – October
Now we begin creating our beautiful new space and there are many different ways to get involved:
- building work (skilled & non-skilled)
- painting and decorating
- interior design
- furniture making
- uphostery / sewing
- finding sponsors and fundraising
- helping with admin and research
- hosting volunteers
- donating towards the wishlist (coming soon!)
You may be able to cook once a week for our volunteers, come in for an hour or two in the evening , help out at our weekend community days … or help out whenever you have time. There will be things that can be done from home as well as on site and we are open to creative ideas and impute :)
It will be a special experience creating together such a beautiful and meaningful space which will benefit so many people, both now and in future generations.
If you would like to be involved in this special project we would love to hear from you!

Nordic KMC is a volunteer-run charity and there are many ways you can support the activities of the Centre.
Helping out is a great way of getting involved in a friendly community, all working to help others to find some inner peace.
All help is welcome, no particular skills are needed but if there is an area you’d particularly enjoy helping with, do let us know. There are lots of ways to help such as joining in with:
- weekly centre cherishing
- assisting at classes
- publicity distribution
- making offerings
- other opportunities
Becoming a supporting member is the most economical way to enjoy all our classes, courses and retreats.
If you attend classes regularly, your membership will represent substantial saving over paying for individual classes. As the classes you can attend are unlimited once you have paid your monthly fee, it also provides many opportunities to deepen your meditation practice and find lasting solutions to the challenges of daily life

- 30% off special events
- Easy monthly payments speading the cost out over the whole year
