Join us for a weekend of celebration and inspiration at the opening of our new city temple for world peace. As a reault of Venerable Geshe-la’s incredible vision and kindness, and the dedication of many volunteers, a beautiful new space is appearing for the people in the Nordic region.

The General Spiritual Director of our world wide tradition og Kadampa Buddhism, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, will open the new centre and hold a series of talks and meditations during the weekend. Well loved for her warmth and insight she will help us to create a vision of happiness in modern life.

This course will introduce a range of basic techniques that will enable you to experience the benefits for yourself. They will include guided meditations and practical teachings on how to meditate. A perfect introduction or refresher course and can be enjoyed on many levels.

A Stress Free Life

This course will introduce meditation techniques to relax and let go of stress, bad habits and negativity and instead cultivate and connect with positive and peaceful states of minds. Using simple, tried and tested methods of working with the mind, you can develop an inner peace and strength that protects you from anything life might bring.

Workplace meditations

Clear Mind at Work is a mindfulness and meditation program which has been specifically designed to meet the needs of contemporary lifestyles and to be easily integrated into the demands of a busy work and home life. The programme focuses on:

  • Creating mental space and perspective
  • Improved focus and flexibility
  • Developing strength of mind and inner stability

The program consists of an introductory session, followed by a series of short tailored courses.

Why our mindfulness & meditation program?

In a world where stress is recognised as one of the biggest occupational hazards and employee engagement is a company’s greatest asset and competitive advantage, it is no wonder that more and more leading organisations including Apple, Google, Yahoo and Barclays Bank, are integrating meditation and mindfulness programs into their workplaces.

Scientific research has conclusively proven the organisational benefits of meditation and mindfulness programs; leading to improved focus, creativity and physical & emotional well being which reduces harmful stress and develops the whole brain.

Meditation and mindfulness is the most widely practiced, most researched, and most effective method for personal development. All mindfulness practice is inspired directly by Buddhist thought and practice, and in this program you have the benefit of receiving instructions from a Buddhist practitioner with many years of personal training and experience. However the instructions and practices taught are suitable for everyone, of every age and background.

Clear Mind at Work is a mindfulness and meditation program which has been specifically designed to meet the needs of contemporary lifestyles and to be easily integrated into the demands of a busy work and home life. The full program is as follows:
 

INTRODUCING CLEAR MIND at WORK
This is an initial workshop which explores the benefits of the program for our work and home lives as mentioned above, as well as introducing some key concepts and basic tools of the three core modules mentioned below. Following this introduction are the three core modules of the program, which run over a number of weeks with each session 1.5 hours long. Each module builds upon the previous one. It is possible to tailor the program to suit client needs and successful workshops and programs have been run for organisations such as Gjensidige Forsikring, Grafill Forening, Novartis, NAV, Moer Sykehjem and a major management consultancy group based in Oslo.

1. Mindful living
introduces the full set of Clear Mind at Work tools of meditation and mindfulness. Learn how to bring one’s awareness fully into the present moment, connecting to a natural sense of inner stillness, clarity and positivity.

2. Embracing change
learn how transforming our view of the inevitable changes and challenges we meet within
our organisations, enables us to meet them with an open, accommodating and calm mind. In this way, rather than the high levels of stress that these situations often generate, we cultivate a solution-oriented approach to the challenges we meet and transform the situation into an opportunity for personal growth and development.

3. Authentic leader ship
cultivate a greater self-awareness, let go of limiting perspectives and fears, leading to confidence, authenticity and integrity as a leader. Also, cultivate a more empathic and compassionate approach to leadership.

School visits

Enhancing school learning, our School vists programme gives local schools the opportunity to visit the City Temple and enjoy meditation, an introductory talk on Buddhism, Q&A and fun activities. Sessions are lead by qualified Kadampa teachers, usually lasting 1 – 1.5hrs and carry a small fee. If you are unable to visit the Centre, we may be able to visit you.

Community visits

Community & group visits provide an introductory session on meditation and modern Buddhism followed by refreshments on our cafe space. Sessions are lead by qualified Kadampa teachers, usually last 1 – 1.5hrs and carry a small fee. If you are unable to visit the Centre, we may be able to visit you.
