Normally we use a toolkit to fix or repair our mind and we us the mindfulness toolkit to fix and repair our mind. I we look at our mind most of us will see that at some time or other we experience problems such as stress, tension, anxiety, worry, irritation, impatience or maybe problems such as craving, addictive behaviour, lack of self-esteem.
These problems all arise in the mind and if we understand how they arise, then we can begin to control them. We can bring our emotions under control, we can bring our thoughts and feelings under control if we know the right tools to use. This course helps us to identify and gradually reduce and eventually eradicate them altogether.
Each class has two parts. In each we will begin with a meditation on the clarity of the mind. After that we take a look at one particular problem, so for example anxiety – try to understand it and also try to observe it at work in our mind. Then we finish with a meditation based solution and follow-up activities.
