What do Buddhists believe? Are 2500 year old concepts and practices relevant in modern society? Do I need to be a Buddhist to benefit from these teachings and meditations? Gen Cho will give answers to these questions in a teaching and meditation session during our Kulturnatt event.

Guided meditations by students of KMC Oslo. An introduction of the basic buddhist ideas on the nature of our mind and the causes of happiness. Short teaching and meditation. Guided meditations for a peaceful mind. A few different meditations on the breath, to calm down, and connect with a deep inner peace that is already within us.

  • Waffles; Videos; guided viewing around the Buddhist center with explanation about the Buddhists aspects of the center and NKT-IKBU tradition etc.

    You are most welcome to our peaceful and inspiring location in Majorstuen.

    We have a beautiful sitting area, where you can sit and talk with a few of our volunteers and other course participants.

    Have a peaceful break and bring food for thought into your evening!

  • Mange har spurt om vi Buddhister også har noen fysiske øvelser. Det har vi! I denne øvelsen styrker og renser vi både vår kropp og vårt sinn. Vi resiterer navnene til de '35 confession Buddhas' mens vi bøyer og strekker ut hele kroppen mot Buddhaene. Denne øvelsen har en spesiell kraft til å rense vår negativ karma. En veiledning blir gitt i forkant så alle kan delta.

  • Livet er fullt av utfordringer og vanskeligheter som kommer på løpende bånd, hvor forberedt er vi egentlig? I dette foredraget vil den norske buddhistiske monken Kelsang Sanglam, gi en grunnleggende innføring i to meditasjoner som vil styrke våre gode egenskaper, slik at vi takle alt livet bringer.

  • Hvorfor er det egentlig så vanskelig å finne varig lykke og tilfredshet? I dette foredraget vil du få en smakebit på hvordan du kan endre og forbedre dine tanke- og handlingsmønstre. Den norske buddhistiske munken Kelsang Sanglam, kommer til å lære deg en meditasjon som virkelig vil forvandle ditt liv, fra innsiden.

  • In this talk Gen Cho will introduce the buddhist ideas on the nature of our mind and the causes of happiness.

    If we understand the connection between our mind and our experiences, we will see that inner peace is the cause of happiness.

    Through gradually improve the quality of our mind with meditation and positive thinking, we will experience an increase in contentment and happiness.

  • Tara prayers - Liberation from Sorrow

    Everyone is welcome to attend this special chanted prayer (puja) where we recite praised and requests to

    the twenty-one Tara's. This practice is a powerful way to protect us from all internal and external dangers.

    An short introduction to the practice will be given before we chant together.
