Foundation Program
a systematic study and meditation program
What is the foundation program?
The Foundation Program (FP) at Nordic Kadampa Meditation Center allows us to study and meditate systematically on the principal subjects of Kadampa Buddhism based on six books by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. The essence of the classes, which consist of teachings, meditation, and discussion, is to get practical experience of Buddha’s teachings that you can apply to your daily modern life.
Why join the foundation program?
FP is a tried and tested program to improve our understanding of the meaning of Buddha’s teachings, develop a daily meditation practice that is both strong and concentrated, and create genuine spiritual progress.
This book is a highly acclaimed commentary to the great Indian Buddhist Master Shantideva’s famous spiritual poem Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life, one of the best loved and most important Mahayana Buddhist texts. It reveals with poetic beauty and deep spiritual insight how to enter, make progress on, and complete the Buddhist path to enlightenment.
